Evaluated the functionality, usability, and effectiveness of virtual tour freshman recruitment software.
- Collaborated with team members on interviews, usability testing, survey analysis, and final presentation.
- My additional individual contributions included
personas/scenarios, competitive evaluation, a walkthrough
with usability heuristics, and a vocabulary analysis.
Our clients commended us to the Vice Provost for Academic Information, who requested we present results to the University’s President and advisors. Our presentation sparked substantial discussion for future directions, and we received many compliments.

Jewelry Television
Redesigned information architecture of interface/interaction
style guide for internal-use software.
- Responsible for carrying out entire project during three-month internship, consulting Lead UI Designer as necessary.
- Interviewed developers and designers.
- Redesigned style guide’s information architecture to facilitate
developer/designer communication and relevant automatic updates. - Implemented style guide redesign and updated entries. Reported
inconsistencies in existing software.
At the end of my internship, I presented and trained design team and software engineers, who were pleased with the level of customization. Reception from management was also positive.

Anasazi Heritage Center and Canyons of the Ancients
National Monument (Bureau of Land Management)
Redesigned hiking trail pamphlets to increase safety,
facilitate visit planning, and channel visitors away from fragile archaeological sites to stabilized sites.
- Collaborated with supervisor and grant partner to develop conceptual redesign and revisions to text, photographs, and layout.
- My additional individual contributions include rewriting pamphlet text for brevity and clarity, maintaining mockups, and coordinating with our graphic designer.
My supervisor and our grant partner both expressed gratitude for my contribution to refocusing our redesign on our goals and objectives.
U.S. Army Logistics Innovation Agency
Evaluated Agency Project Leads’ processes for assembling teams and writing charters, using Contextual Inquiry. Identified opportunities to enhance business processes and internal-use software.
- Responsible for entire project from beginning to end, consulting with managers.
- Interviewed Project Leads and their supervisors; modeled data.
- Shared findings and design ideas with interviewees to gather feedback and additional ideas.
- Presented to Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors responded with enthusiastic discussion, and requested additional information. Project Leads and supervisors felt I provided accurate and helpful insight, and I was awarded an agency Coin of Excellence by the Agency Director and a second award from our internal Business Group Lead. The agency recently implemented a recommendation for a Project Leads lunch to present projects and discuss potential collaborations.
